GRANTING OF SCHOLARSHIPS

The scholarship application forms are included in this booklet and can be found at http://www.foro2003.sld.cu (you can access to the application form community forum). Once completed they may be sent in the following manners:

1- Go to http://www.foro2003.sld.cu and complete the form there confirming the operation.
2- By E-mail using the form available at http://www.foro2003.sld.cu and sending it to foro2003@infomed.sld.cu or foroc03@infomed.sld.cu (for the Community Scholarships) confirming the operation in both cases.
3- By post by completing the form included in this booklet and sending it to:

The Scholarship Committee, attached to the Thematic Program Committee, will take the following criteria into account:

• Having an accepted presentation in Forum 2003
• Being active in community organizations working in areas relevant to the themes of the conference
• The importance of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country of the principal author and the representation of the country in the joint registration of presentations

The creation of a specific Scholarship Committee (that will work alongside the Organizing Committee) was considered necessary for the Community Forum. This Committee will consider the following criteria for the granting of scholarships:

• Membership of a risk group
• Gender
• Being a person living with HIV/AIDS
• Time involved in HIV/AIDS work.
• Time you have been working on HIV/AIDS
• Belonging to a country with no Regional Networks
• Community Work undertaken
• Being a volunteer
• Participation in previous events
  

All scholarship applicants are asked to attach a letter of presentation from their institution and a reference letter form another institution or individual to the application form.
